Bladeless Corneal Transplant Specialists
Dr. James S. Lewis and Dr. Michael Aronsky
Dr. Lewis is proud to offer his patients a variety of state-of-the-art vision correction treatments. In addition to LASIK and Epi-LASIK, he specializes in the implantation of Visian intraocular collamer lenses (ICLs). As the first surgeon in Pennsylvania trained to implant Visian ICLs, Dr. Lewis has helped numerous Philadelphia ICLs patients achieve clear vision through this procedure. His reputation as a highly talented, experienced Visian ICL Philadelphia surgeon attracts patients from throughout Pennsylvania, including Bucks County, Elkins Park, Phoenixville, Conshohocken and Warminster.
Patients Discuss their Transplant Experience
Dr. Lewis offers Visian ICLs for nearsighted patients who desire to achieve clear vision without glasses but do not qualify for laser eye surgery, such as LASIK or Epi-LASIK. While these procedures can treat mild to moderate myopia, they are not suitable for patients with severe nearsightedness. Visian ICLs, however, can be used to treat nearsightedness in the range of -20.00 diopters. Inserted in the eye, Visian ICL corrects its shape so that the eye refracts light rays correctly and provides clear vision. According to studies conducted by the FDA, 95 percent of patients who receive Visian ICLs achieve vision of 20/40 or better.
